EnterpriseROR™ OFX Connectivity
Investors today expect more options for managing their own investments such as with
third-party financial management software like Inuit's "Quicken" and "Microsoft
Money." EnterpriseROR leverages the same data needed to perform personal rate of
return calculations for generating financial information conforming to the Open
Financial Exchange ("OFX") standard used by Quicken, Money and thousands of other
financial institutions. dailyVest has successfully deployed OFX solutions for several
financial institutions..
About OFX ("Open Financial Exchange")...
Open Financial Exchange is a specification for the electronic exchange of financial data between financial
institutions, business and consumers via the Internet. Created by CheckFree, Intuit and Microsoft in early
1997, Open Financial Exchange supports a wide range of financial activities including consumer and small
business banking, consumer and small business bill payment, bill presentment, and investments tracking,
including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and 401(k) account details. Since 2000, with the 2.0 specification,
OFX has become XML 1.0 compliant and has added 1098, 1099 and W2 tax form download capabilities.
Open Financial Exchange, which enables transactional, permissive, data feed driven Web sites, thin clients
and personal financial software, streamlines the process financial institutions need to connect to multiple
customer interfaces, processors and systems integrators. By making it more compelling for financial institutions
to implement online financial services, Open Financial Exchange is accelerating the adoption of online financial
services by financial institutions and their customers.
The Open Financial Exchange specification is publicly available for implementation by any financial institution
or vendor. As of March 2004 OFX is supported by over 2000 banks and brokerages as well as major payroll processing
companies. The latest version of OFX is 2.0.2. (The preceeding paragraph was repeated in full from the Open
Financial Exchange website at www.ofx.net.)
OFX Connectivity Solutions... dailyVest's EnterpriseROR was
originally developed to provide a foundation for delivering personal rate of return reporting via web
and printed statement-based mediums. However, driven by the need to continuously improve technology,
and compelled by client requests, dailyVest added an OFX Connectivity Module to EnterpriseRoR in 2004.
Currently, EnterpriseRoR's OFX Connectivity Module is deployed at some of the world's leading financial
institutions including Charles Schwab and Affiliated Computer Services.
Implementation... dailyVest's OFX Connectivity Implementation Process includes all steps needed for information connectivity
between a Financial Institution’s account access website and multiple customer
interfaces, including personal financial software clients using the internet. Specifically,
this process covers the deployment of a solution designed to connect participant/investor
data to two popular competing software applications: Intuit’s “Quicken” and Microsoft’s
“Money” software applications. While
OFX supports a wide range of financial activities such as bill presentment and payment, dailyVest's process addresses only the download of account data from the FI website to
the Quicken and MS Money clients using the Investment Statement
Download and 401(k) Statement Download aggregates.
